Actually the U.S. government raising the minimum wage is illegal and anti constitutional. It clearly states in the U.S. constitution that, "Everything A Person Gets Has To Be Based On Luck". The reason for this passage in the U.S. constitution is if everything isn't based on "Luck" then everything a person has will be based on a King, Dictator or Communism. The U.S. government can create the economic environment that produces wealth for all U.S. citizens and gives access to enough cash to end poverty but that never happens due to democratic ideology and some conservative politicians kissing up to business lobbying for cheap labor.
Talking about cheap labor guess who gets $10.10 an hour? You got it, "Illegal Aliens"!
The minimum wage was created and raised several times in the past and based on historical results it has never worked and has always lead to a chain reaction of higher paid workers wanting an increase in their pay to match the increase lower wage workers are getting and businesses increasing consumer prices to pay for it all. The end result is everyone is, "Back To Where They Were Before The Minimum Wage Increase" and no benefits to the economy or a persons financial stability is achieved.
What will happen is a chain reaction of higher paid workers demanding an increase in their wages also, rents will go up, consumer goods will go up, utility bills will go up, energy will go up, everything you can think of will go up. More jobs will be moved to foreign countries, illegal aliens will of coarse get the increase in the minimum wage creating a flood of illegal aliens crossing the southern border.
Every low wage worker wants to get to that point where they don't have to struggle financially and the promise of more money is always a way for bad government to get votes but the end result of these anti constitutional wage increases is always the same. "Poverty Never Gets Erased" and low wage workers always end up back where they are now because somebody else always has to pay for these mandatory wage increases. Low wage workers surely won't pay for somebody else so what makes them believe that the higher wage workers are going to pay for someone else and this isn't a matter of, "You Have More Money An I Don't". It's a matter of, "I Had To Study An Work Hard For What I Have And So Do You".
The problem with most low wage workers is they have no sense of what's real because of a lack of common sense due to a low education level. All these low wage workers see is, "False Racism" or "Ideology" that has been implanted in the deep recesses of their brain matter. Lots of low wage so called minority workers have been programmed to see racism as the reason for their poverty and never want to admit the reason for their poverty is the way they look at life. Look at Allan West, Herman Cain, Condelesa Rice, Tim Scott and other prominate black U.S. citizens in the private sector that shed the "ALL Whites Are Racist" card and walked away from the brainwashing from black racists and made themselves a great life in the U.S.. Whites see life through an ideology that has government giving them all kinds of "Free" stuff so their lazy arses can do less.
When the basics of economics is ignored because of ideology the economy fails big time and nobody gets what they want except the loony politicians and greedy business execs.
The basic economic principles of "SUPPLY AND DEMAND" have to be kept balanced or people without wealth sit in their own wallow hole of economic despair.
#1 In order to increase wages to low wage workers a "DEMAND" for employees must be established and at this time in history there is no demand for employees to excessive illegal and legal immigration. Businesses have tons of cash and use this cash to lobby congress for more labor that suppresses wages to workers and raises business profits. Increasing the minimum wage will not and never correct or end this issue.
#2 Consumer prices go up when "DEMAND" for products, services and healthcare is increased over supply and at this time in history due again to excessive illegal and legal immigration demand drawfs supply and the end result is "High Prices" for consumer goods, services and healthcare. Even if the conservatives let the democrats do what they want in your lifetime the loony democrats will never be able to bring supply up over demand to lower costs. The only way to achieve the economic supply and demand balance and lower costs is to remove all the illegal aliens and cut legal immigration from the present 1 million a year back down to the 1960's level of 300,000 a year. Of coarse work visas will still be given out for short time periods to fill the employment needs of businesses that honestly can't find U.S. citizens to work the jobs.
#3 To keep consumer prices low the U.S. government can create an environment that encourages small business growth that will create more good paying jobs and consumer price competition. This will also bring supply back up over demand and decrease the income gap between the wealthy and the poor which conservatives want to see happen more than the democrats. The democrats might preach they want to see this income gap between the rich and poor decreased but in reality the democrats "Do Not" want this to happen because the democrats want to "Take All The Money They Can Get From the Wealthy To Fund Big Government".
The only possible way the democrats can make a minimum wage hike work effectively is to regulate business profits to stop the costs from going up and bringing low wage workers back to the place they were before the minimum wage hike. Of coarse government regulation of prices a business can charge will completely destroy the stock market but maybe this is what the democrats are after. As stated above, "Minimum Wage Hikes Historically Just End Up Being A Low Wage Again After Businesses Start Jacking Up Costs And Higher Wage Workers Start Bitching About A Cost Of Living Increase".
